How to set up the integration with Archlet
This integration works if your company:
uses a cloud SAP Ariba version that contains the Event Management API
has a unique SAP Ariba Sourcing realm
You only need a few steps and clicks to set up an integration with Archlet.
1. Creation of Applications within the SAP Ariba Developer portal
2. Sharing credentials and service principal user with Archlet
⚠️ If you have multiple Ariba realms (e.g., pre-production and production), you must do these steps for each realm separately to strictly separate environments.
1. Creation of Applications within the SAP Ariba Developer portal
After accessing the SAP Ariba Developer portal (https://developer.ariba.com/), you must create a new application as shown below:
Once created, request the following API access within the application:
API: Event Management API (v2)
Tenant: Sourcing
Once you request the API, wait for SAP Ariba to approve the API access. The approval typically happens within a few business days.
Once SAP Ariba approves the API, generate the OAuth Secret for the application. The OAuth Secret is a .txt file that will download when you click "Generate OAuth Secret". Send the contents of this file to your person of contact at Archlet.
2. Sharing of credentials and service principal user with Archlet
Besides the OAuth Secret, Archlet needs a service principal user (dedicated Archlet user) with SAP Ariba to perform the necessary actions to export an Ariba event into Archlet. If you do not have a service principal user, you can create one for Archlet directly in SAP Ariba from within the User Manager:
You are all set once you provide your contact at Archlet with:
the OAuth Secret for the Ariba application;
and the user credentials for the service principal
Archlet will take it from there to finish the integration setup. Soon, you'll be analyzing your first Ariba events within Archlet!
